Where can I find listings for positions that involve rare books and manuscripts?

While few listings of solely rare book and/or manuscript positions exist, the following resources will include available positions in those areas:

ALA Joblist
http://joblist.ala.org/
A database for library positions of all types. Searches can be limited to positions in "Special Collections / Archives" on the advanced search page. Also provides a resume-posting service, email alerts and RSS feeds of listings.

Archive Gigs
http://archivesgig.livejournal.com/
“Careers, jobs, and internships in the world of Archives & Records Management.”

ExLibris-L
http://www.lsoft.com/scripts/wl.exe?SL1=EXLIBRIS-L&H=LISTSERV.INDIANA.EDU
An electronic discussion list for people interested in rare books and manuscripts. It often provides early notice of open professional positions in the field. To join the list, read the directions on the link above, under "Subscribing." You may also search the list archive. Messages concerning open positions are often posted with "Job Announcement" in the subject line.

Library Job Postings on the Internet
http://www.libraryjobpostings.org/
A comprehensive directory of region-specific and discipline-specific library job lists. Includes links to Regional chapters of the ACRL, state chapters of the ALA, library school job boards, and other regional resources. Note that these regional listings can include paraprofessional positions that are often excluded from national databases.

Society of American Archivists: Online Employment Bulletin
http://www.archivists.org/employment/
Listings for jobs in the archives field only.

UT Austin Jobweb
http://www.ischool.utexas.edu/jobweb/Search.php

International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions: LIBJOBS list
http://www.ifla.org/II/lists/libjobs.htm

Individual Institutions
In some cases, open positions may be listed only on an institution's web site. This may be the case both for academic and independent institutions.
