Program at SMU during ALA Midwinter 2012 in Dallas, Texas
A program for RBMS members and the extended special collections, archives, and library community is scheduled for Friday, January 20, 2012 when ALA Midwinter 2012 will be in Dallas, Texas. There will be no charge for the program, which will be held at Southern Methodist University (SMU) with co-hosting by three special collections on campus: Bridwell Library Special Collections, Bywaters Special Collections of the Hamon Arts Library, and DeGolyer Library.

Exhibitions at all three libraries are free and open during regular public hours.
The afternoon program, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the DeGolyer Library, will include the following three speakers representing special collections, archives, and archival education in Texas and the Southwest discussing the following topics:

A reception at the DeGolyer Library will be held at 3:30 p.m., immediately following the talks.
SMU is approximately 20 minutes from downtown Dallas, where ALA meetings and hotels will be located. Dallas Area Rapid Transit ( DART: http://www.dart.org/ ) offers a light rail line between downtown and a station close to campus. This allows for easy commuting to and from downtown. SMU is also approximately 20 minutes by car from Love Field airport and approximately 45 minutes from DFW airport.
